Hundreds "Dig In!" at Walnut Creek Library Groundbreaking

Community members young, old and in-between came to break ground for our new downtown Walnut Creek Library on May 19. Mayor Gwen Regalia welcomed the crowd and thanked the Foundation for its fundraising to date. County Librarian Anne Cain and Foundation board member Tom Donahoe also spoke about the exciting new library that will be a welcome addition to downtown Walnut Creek.

The Walls Came Tumbling Down

Going, Going... Gone!
The old downtown library was demolished on February 26, 2008. The bids are due March 18, and the Walnut Creek City Council will award the bid at its April 15 meeting. Groundbreaking will be some time in May.
